## Quick start

1. Open a Display on the screen the audience should see: phone, tablet, laptop, or TV.
2. Scan the Display QR with another device to join as Controller.
3. On Premium, join as Observer from a third device to watch the whole show with no controls. Use Invite crew when other operators need control. Free allows one controller.
4. Start the timer. Every connected Display follows. Observer stays read-only.

## Questions

### Do I need an account?

No. Free sessions work without signing in. Email sign-in (magic link, no password) is only required to buy Premium and to keep History across devices.

### What’s free vs Premium?

Free: one controller + one display. Free displays show the EpicTimers logo on screen. Observer is Premium. Premium: unlimited displays and controllers, Observer, Invite crew, custom logo, custom background, background music, Scheduled Start, Templates, History, and Export Log, and no EpicTimers logo on the display.

### How does background music work?

Premium lets you upload an audio track up to 100 MB, control its volume and looping, and choose which display plays it. Music follows timer Start and Pause, and stops during Black Out. Tracks live in My Files with your other library assets (shared 1 GB storage quota across logos, backgrounds, music, and sound effects).

### Is there a free trial?

Yes. Premium includes a 14-day free trial. Cancel anytime before it ends and you won’t be charged. After the trial the subscription renews until you cancel.

### Can I get another free trial?

The 14-day free trial is available once. After you’ve started or cancelled it, new subscriptions begin billing immediately.

### Can Display, Controller, or Observer run on any phone, tablet, or laptop?

Yes. Any device with a modern browser works: phone, tablet, laptop, or TV. The screens you already have.

### What is Observer?

Observer is a Premium role. It monitors the live run (timers, messages, music, and crew) with no ability to change anything. Leave disconnects that Observer; Displays and Controllers keep running. Observers do not count toward the Free one-controller + one-display limit.

### Can more than one person control the same show?

On Premium, yes. Invite crew and share the session QR. Free allows one controller; a second Free controller can Take over and evict the first.

### Displays went black / stopped updating

Check that Black Out is off, the device is online, and the correct timer is started. Refresh the display page or re-scan if the session was cleared.
